Going to all these weddings in the Bay Area have really made me miss where I grew up in Sunol, California (for those of you who don’t know its a wink outside Fremont). This wedding was in one of my favorite cities by the Bay, in Palo Alto. I have a slight love affair with Palo Alto since I felt like I grew up there when my parents worked for HP. It was kind of a second home to me. Granted it looks a lot different then I remember from its Yuppy glory days in the 80s and the grungy 90s.
But what should be a city landmark Trader Vics at Dinah Hotel was looking beautiful on the day of the wedding (with its 1960s tiki-kitish decor and Polynesian resort like grounds in the middle of the big city). Almost as if we were on some tropical island Petar and Lisa’s wedding was absolutely perfect.
The bouquets were a mix of blue hydrangeas and tropical orchids brought a lively and vibrant feel to the theme.
I was so grateful when Lisa asked me to take photographs of her in her bridal suite getting ready with all her bridesmaids and her mom.
The dress looked so beautiful and you can tell Lisa was as much in-love with her dress as she was her groom.
Lisa made for a beautiful bride and Petar is one lucky guy. My favorite photograph I took was of her side profile. It has such a classic look, very vintage. Just like the silhouettes used to in the nineteenth century to remember a moment in time.
